This Friday, July 11, 2025, at precisely 11:00 AM (local time), the cannons of the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes on the Isle of Wight will signal the start of the Transoceanic sailing race: Cowes-Dinard-St Malo Race with Yacht Club de Monaco members competing.

About the Cowes-Dinard-St Malo Race

This 151-nautical mile (approximately 280 kilometers) race is one of the oldest and most significant regattas in the British calendar, organized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC). First held in 1906, it is one of the longest-running offshore races in the world. The regatta attracts a wide range of sailboats, from seasoned professionals to amateurs, and is known for its challenging conditions, which include variable currents, shallow waters, and navigation around numerous coastal obstacles.

The start from Cowes, a historic center of sailing, and the finish in the picturesque port of Saint-Malo, France, make this regatta exceptionally attractive. Saint-Malo is renowned for its impressive walls and rich maritime history, which adds a special charm to the entire event.
