An exciting journey awaits you at the Osaka 2025 World Expo, which opened its doors on April 13th and will run until October 13th. Monaco, as is its tradition, presents its vision of the world through its pavilion, with a particular emphasis on its unique qualities.
As early as 1873, under the reign of Prince Charles III, Monaco recognized the significance of these global events and has actively participated in world expos in the most important global centers ever since. This year’s exhibition theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives Tomorrow,” inspires Monaco to present its perspective through the prism of “Connecting Lives.” The central part of the pavilion is a complex of buildings surrounded by a carefully designed garden, which strikingly highlights the Principality’s strong commitment to environmental issues.
Discovering the Monegasque Pavilion: A Fusion of Nature, Technology, and Culture
An impressive and interactive space combines touch, visual elements, and poetry. Tall vertical windows convey evocative scenes of Monaco, enriched with haiku verses that encourage reflection.
The Monaco Green Lab represents the heart of the Principality’s environmental endeavors. A tree stands centrally, surrounded by representative elements of the Monegasque ecosystem, symbolizing a lasting commitment to sustainability. Interactive displays allow visitors to explore innovative, eco-responsible projects, while animated books bring to life the visionary ideas of Prince Albert I and His Serene Highness Prince Albert II in the field of nature protection.

The immersive garden presents a harmony of Japanese and Mediterranean landscapes, within which the “Human-Wildlife” installation is located, offering visitors an educational and entertaining experience that explores the relationship between humans and nature.
The “Flowers for Bees” installation is inspired by the world of bee colonies, raising awareness about the importance of these insects and presenting concrete actions that Monaco is taking to protect them.
Finally, the “Cathedral” represents a tribute to the seas and oceans, bringing to life the richness of the Mediterranean marine world on screens that create a magical atmosphere imbued with light, colors, and fluid forms.
Celebrating Monaco National Day and a Sporting Spectacle
One of the key dates of the expo will be Monaco National Day, on June 28th, when a high delegation of officials, the Prince’s Carabinieri Orchestra, and the Ballets de Monte-Carlo will gather. Additionally, on June 27th, a friendly football match will be organized between the Monegasque team “Barbagiuans,” composed of legendary players such as Pirès, Giuly, Rivaldo, and Desailly, and the “Japan All Star Team,” whose lineup will feature stars of Japanese football such as Matsui, Nakata, and Honda.
This pavilion, which reflects the spirit of Monaco, is passionately brought to life by 13 young people from the Principality, aged between 21 and 27, thus presenting a showcase of excellence. Over the six months of the exhibition, a visit of 28 million people is expected.
