A striking new outdoor photography exhibition opened on Thursday, June 5, showcasing the creative talents of Monaco’s youth while celebrating the Principality’s rich architectural heritage.

Featuring young talent and architectural gems

The display, set along the railings of the Jardins Saint-Martin, features 15 standout images captured by young photographers aged 11 to 25. These works were selected as part of a competition organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs, aimed at fostering artistic expression and engaging the younger generation in the preservation of Monaco’s built environment.

Expert and youth juries recognize excellence

An expert jury — including figures such as heritage specialist Stéphane Bern and celebrated photographer Nick Danziger — sifted through numerous entries to select the most compelling shots. The exhibition will remain in place through to Sunday, October 5, coinciding with the European Heritage Days, which this year centre on the theme of architectural heritage.

Four photographers — Adrian Blanchi, Andrea Brezzo, Léonie Massa, and Jeanna Grogorian — earned special recognition from a youth jury made up of local students. In addition to receiving individual prizes, all 15 finalists have been awarded a masterclass with Nick Danziger, offering them a rare opportunity to hone their photographic skills under professional guidance.

Promoting heritage and future endeavors

The initiative not only highlights Monaco’s architectural gems through the eyes of its young citizens but also promotes sustainable cultural practices by encouraging awareness and appreciation of local heritage.

Following its Monaco run, the exhibition will travel to Strasbourg in 2026 as part of the Principality’s chairmanship of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers — a fitting stage for the work of these budding photographers.
