The Junior Economic Chamber (JCI) of Monaco has officially opened applications for the 30th edition of its long-running Business Creation Competition. This milestone event represents a significant opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to establish or grow a business within the prestigious Principality.
Decades of nurturing innovation
Since its inception in 1995, this esteemed initiative has been a cornerstone of Monaco’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, consistently supporting the development of numerous now-established businesses. Many ventures that are household names in the Principality, such as the well-known platform Carlo, and last year’s standout winner, Excel—a dedicated homework support center, are testaments to the competition’s impact. The annual contest welcomes both entirely brand-new projects and companies that have been operating for less than two years. Crucially, it also extends an invitation to entrepreneurs based abroad who are looking to establish their presence in Monaco, highlighting the Principality’s open-door policy for international talent and innovation.
Unlocking significant support and opportunities

The Business Creation Competition offers a robust package of support designed to give aspiring business owners a substantial head start. This includes three major financial prizes: a generous €40,000 from the Monaco Government, a significant €21,000 from the JCI itself, and an additional €10,000 from partner ATOS. Beyond this vital financial injection, winners also gain invaluable exposure within the Monegasque business community, personalized guidance from experienced professionals, and, perhaps most importantly, exclusive access to the JCI’s extensive and influential professional network. As the JCI President and the competition’s project lead emphasized, the core objective is to empower these nascent businesses, providing them with the right support at the earliest and most critical stages of their development, helping them to truly flourish.
Key dates for aspiring entrepreneurs
For those interested in participating, an important date to note is June 17. The JCI will host an open Q&A session at their headquarters starting at 4:30 p.m., offering a direct opportunity for applicants to get their questions answered and gain insights into the competition process. The final deadline for all submissions is September 30. After this, a distinguished jury, comprising local business experts and members of the organizing committee, will meticulously review all applications. The much-anticipated winners will then be announced at a dedicated celebratory event towards the end of the year. Budding entrepreneurs are strongly encouraged to seize this exceptional opportunity to kick-start their business journey in the vibrant and supportive environment of Monaco.
