Get ready for enchanting summer evenings! Monaco’s historic Théâtre du Fort Antoine is set to burst to life from July 1st to 29th, transforming its magnificent 18th-century fortress into an open-air spectacle. This year’s program, curated by the Direction des Affaires Culturelles, promises a captivating blend of theatre, music, and a thrilling spotlight on emerging artistic voices.

A symphony of sounds and stories

Music lovers are in for a treat with four standout concerts. Prepare for a rich jazz evening featuring the soulful voice of Stella Cole alongside acclaimed pianist Thomas Enhco. Experience a unique tribute to Corsican song with Jean-Charles Papi, and brace yourself for an electrifying fusion of blues-funk and vibrant African rhythms from the dynamic Sanseverino.

The theatrical program delves into profound narratives. Don’t miss “Du Domaine des Murmures,” a compelling adaptation of Carole Martinez’s novel by Jessica Astier and William Mesguich. This production promises a poetic exploration of heritage and the intricate ties that bind families. And, for the first time ever in 2025, younger audiences can join the magic with “Jamais Dormir,” a new children’s production designed for an inclusive and delightful experience.

A literary journey and new horizons

This season also marks the debut of a special literary reading that promises to be a highlight. Renowned actor Charles Berling will grace the stage, presenting selections from Prince Albert I’s seminal work, “La Carrière d’un Navigateur.” This unique evening will beautifully interweave Monaco’s rich maritime legacy with poignant literary reflection.

Cultivating tomorrow’s stars

Monaco is deeply committed to nurturing new talent, and the third annual Scène Ouverte is testament to this. This exciting initiative gives artists aged 18-30 a unique platform to shine, showcasing their prowess in dance, music, and theatre. Supported by the Department’s “Fort Talents” initiative, which actively fosters youth participation through an open-mic organizing committee, Scène Ouverte is a vital part of Monaco’s dedication to empowering nascent artistic voices.

Where history meets performance

The Théâtre du Fort Antoine isn’t just a venue; it’s a cultural treasure steeped in history. Perched dramatically against the Rock of Monaco, it was lovingly rebuilt after World War II and transformed in the 1970s into a striking nautical-inspired amphitheater. Complete with a captivating cannon-ball pyramid and robust parapets, the theatre provides an unparalleled, atmospheric setting under the glittering Riviera sky.

Admission to these enchanting performances is free, though reservations are highly recommended and can be made via MonteCarloTicket.com or the Théâtre Princesse Grace box office. As the setting, the sound, and the sunset perfectly coalesce, audiences are guaranteed truly magical experiences that are both accessible and wonderfully evocative of Monaco’s vibrant cultural tapestry.
